HOW THE APPEALS PROCESS WORKS
There are several websites available that provides additional prescription assistance.  Most programs are easy to apply for and are downloadable, or can be submitted online.  Several of these are listed below.
 
For Missouri Residents
An individual may apply for medical assistance at the county Family Support Division (FSD) office in which (s)he resides, or in some cases at outreach sites. Applications for MC+ managed care may be made by phone by calling (888) 275-5908 or by mailing a completed MC+ managed care application to a MC+ managed care Service Center.

MC+ Program
This program provides insurance to children under the age of 19 and, in some cases, their families. Some participants may have to pay premiums and/or co-payments, but the total spent will not total more than 5% of the family's annual income. Once this limit is reached there will be no more premiums or co-pays.  The requirements are that  the applicant must be a resident of Missouri intending to stay, under the age of 19, and have had no insurance for the past six months (with some exceptions). The family income must be at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Student loans, grants, and income from college work-study programs are not counted as income. The applicant must also be a US citizen or legal immigrant. For more information on this program please visit:

MC+ for Pregnant Women and Newborns
This program is an insurance program for pregnant women and newborns up to one years old as long as the mother is a resident of Missouri.  The requirements for this program are that the applicant must be a resident of Missouri, pregnant, and have her own social security number. The applicant must also be a US citizen or a legal immigrant whose net family income does not exceed 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. This program considers a pregnant woman two people; the mother and unborn child.

Medical Assistance for Families
This program provides health care coverage for children under 19 years of age, some parents and pregnant women.  The requirements for this program are that ihe applicant must be a resident of Missouri with his/her own social security number. The applicant must also be a US citizen or legal immigrant. The family's income must be at or below $234 per month for a family of two, $292 for a family of three, $342 for a family of four.

Wyeth Patient Assistance Program
This program requires a three month prescription and the coverage of drugs is limited.  There are limits on the coverage of Medicare and Medicaid users.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance
 
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance brings together America’s pharmaceutical companies, doctors, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public or private program that’s right for them. Many will get them free or nearly free. Its mission is to increase awareness of patient assistance programs and boost enrollment of those who are eligible. Through this site, the Partnership for Prescription Assistance offers a single point of access to more than 475 public and private patient assistance programs, including more than 180 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies.
